Seen ("we", "our", or "the app") is operated by Paul Taylor. This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Seen app.

Information We Collect

When you use Seen, we collect:

Account information: Your Apple ID (via Sign in with Apple) or Google account (via Sign in with Google), display name, handle, and avatar.

Profile information: Information you choose to add, including titles you've watched, are watching, want to watch, ratings, and notes.

Social information: Your friend connections, recommendations sent and received, and any private or public settings you choose for items.

Device information: Push notification tokens (if you opt into notifications), device type, and OS version for crash reporting purposes.

Usage data: Basic analytics about how you use the app (which features you use, frequency of use) to help us improve the product.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide the core features of the app (tracking titles, friend connections, recommendations)
• Send you notifications about friend activity (only with your permission)
• Improve the app based on usage patterns
• Communicate with you about important changes

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your information to third parties.

We share information only:

• With other users you've connected with as friends (visible profile information, titles you've added, ratings, unless marked private)
• With service providers who help us run the app (Supabase for database hosting, TMDB for film and TV metadata, Apple and Google for authentication, Apple for push notifications)
• When required by law

Third-Party Services

Seen uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase for authentication, database, and backend services
• TMDB (The Movie Database) for film and TV metadata
• Apple for Sign in with Apple authentication and push notifications
• Google for Sign in with Google authentication

Each service has its own privacy policy that governs their handling of your data.

Your Choices

You can:

• Mark individual items as private so friends cannot see them
• Remove friends at any time
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Disable push notifications in your device settings

Account Deletion

To delete your account, go to Profile, then Account, then Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. Your account and all associated data, including your library, ratings, recommendations, friend connections, and photos, are removed and cannot be recovered.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy

Seen is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app.
